National Parks, Monuments, & Protected Areas

Southeast Alaska   •Central Alaska•  Western Alaska   •  Seattle to Alaska   National Parks

Alaska is home to more national parks and preserves than any other state in the United States. Its rich environment provides habitat for a variety of migratory birds, sea mammals, and fish as well as year-round residental land mammals, birds and marine life. Wild rivers, calving glaciers, dramatic coastlines and barren tundra are just a taste of what Alaska's surroundings have to offer. Alaska's wildlife includes humpback whales, orcas, porpoise, seals, sea lions, sea otters, a large variety of fish, brown and black bears, moose, deer, caribou, cormorants, puffins, murres, and eagles to name a few. Our state is extensive, diverse, wonderous and like no place else on earth.
