Thank you! We’ve now arrived at the end of this wonderful experience. Cars are loaded and the cables are packed. There’s a strange relaxed atmosphere after 10 crazy days. On our faces, behind tiredness, you may see a bit of sadness too. These were unforgettable days for everyone who had the luck to take part into this project, both as athlete or promoter, and is always hard leaving it all behind. For me this experience represented the opportunity to put in practise everything I’ve learned in 20 years of archery, from all the people I could meet and know. I honestly think that the European Championship in Turin has given its little effort to our movement and this is the greatest satisfaction.
The unusual advertisement campaign, the sold out in the Oval, the live show on TV are almost unbelievable for those, like me, who were treated like aliens when they said they were archers. Obviously this whole fantastic experience was possible thanks to the effort of those who helped us. It’s not up to me making the official thanks to authorities, sponsors, etc. I’d just like to say THANK YOU.
I don’t want to have preferences, because all the volunteers believed with all their hearts in this event, but I have to give special thanks to some people, who stayed by my side during this week and in the previous months.
I’m sorry if I have forgotten anyone but, as everyone has seen me in the last hours can tell, I am a bit tired! And I want to promise one more thing… This is not the end...
